DesignSTL recently revealed the winners of their coveted Architect & Designer Awards. The list is a veritable who’s who of our region’s top design talent. St. Louis interior designer Jenny Rapp of JCR Design Group was awarded Best Traditional Bathroom Under 150 Square Feet.
JCR paired pale blue with understated brushed brass for a palette that imparts relaxation and sophistication. Adding an element of brushing visually softens the Waterfall blue paint chosen for the bathroom’s custom vanity and storage cabinet designs.
The award-winning bathroom design features a custom double bowl vanity, a tall linen cabinet and coordinating water closet cabinet. Working with Louis Rybacki, the firm’s principal, Jenny Rapp, created a custom finish. She paired Crystal’s Waterfall blue paint with a Pewter glaze softened by a brushing technique.
The vanity features a one-of-a-kind custom door style designed by JCR. The bath’s linen cabinet and the water closet cabinet seen below were designed using Crystal’s Hampstead beaded inset door. Among the vanity’s distinctive details is a center tower with arched glass doors (a motif repeated in the nearby linen cabinet), tilt out drawer fronts and a decorative valance.
A water closet cabinet was designed to match the vanity in Waterfall with a Pewter glaze
Gone are the sunflower yellow tile, dated wallcoverings and an ill-suited floorpan. In their place, an improved layout, a sanctuary cloaked in serene color, and the welcome of a sunlit freestanding bath. Join us in congratulating Jenny and her team on their award-winning bathroom design.
