Calm and classic, a mix of beige kitchen cabinets and white oak set the tone for this Ladue, MO kitchen renovation. Working with Mike Beck and Baran Construction, our homeowner sought a peaceful space. With a limited footprint, maintaining storage was paramount.
“We assembled a cast of finishes that would elicit calm, mixing Beige paint with the subtle color and grain that Quarter Sawn White Oak affords.”
Using flush inset cabinetry, we visually balanced the use of paint with stain. Opting for floating shelves rather than wall cabinets made the room appear larger and brighter. And where storage was lost on these walls, we compensated with a pair of customized floor-to-ceiling pantries designed in White Oak opposite the sink.
Beneath the cooktop, we integrated additional storage and a customized design surrounding the controls was achieved with a custom panel.
The use of cabinetry to conceal appliances and the placement of wall ovens on the kitchen’s perimeter made for an uninterrupted, consistent—and above all else, calming—look and feel within the kitchen’s central workspace.
