A love of cooking, togetherness and a distinctly modern aesthetic set the tone for this custom home’s open concept kitchen. Beck/Allen designer Louis Rybacki worked with MC Modern Concepts designing the home’s kitchen, laundry room and bathroom cabinetry.
Eclipse frameless, or full-access, cabinetry by Shiloh was used to construct the cabinets and custom shelving above. In pursuit of a high-contrast palette, homeowners paired a light, textured Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) with a Super Matte High Pressure Laminate (HPL).
CONSIDERING LAMINATES
Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL)
Eclipse offers a collection of Thermally Fused Laminates that are designed to simulate wood grain and are available exclusively with the Metropolitan door style. TFLs are textured and will feature a variation in pattern. They offer three edge styles: matching, brushed aluminum or satin aluminum.
High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
Eclipse High Pressure Laminates are available in High Gloss or Super Matte—as seen in this open concept kitchen in Infinity Black. The Super Matte finish has a built-in anti-microbial finish that is both smudge resistant and easy to clean.
Throughout the process, the homeowners discovered organizational and functional accessories they wished to integrate into their living spaces. These posed challenges that resulted in creative solutions solved through the customization of cabinets.
For instance, concealed within the base cabinets, a pair of step stools pull out and unfold, allowing the homeowners to easily access tall wall cabinets.
