No matter the occasion, it seems guests undoubtedly gravitate to the kitchen. Given an impressive alternative, they may do otherwise. As a result, you gain a welcome bit of breathing room during those crucial moments when final dining preparations are underway.

Your Vision

Perhaps you’ve a bar in need of a refresh. Perhaps you have none—but have space that allows you to dream.

Before you begin, a few elements to consider:

  • Will this be a wet bar or a dry bar? Check with your plumber or general contractor to learn what will be required for your sink and appliances.
  • What appliances will be needed? This may include a refrigerator, ice maker, wine storage, and depending on its size, a dishwasher.
  • Do you prefer solid or glass doors?
  • Take stock of any glassware, decorative items for display, liquor, wine etc. to ensure you plan for adequate storage and shelving.
  • Keep design in mind; you’ll want the bar to fit seamlessly with its surroundings so consider other colors, cabinetry, doorstyles and finishes within the home.
  • Will any cabinet doors require locks?
  • Regarding lighting and outlets; glass-front cabinets are beautiful when lit from within, and you may prefer lighting beneath cabinets as well. It may be possible to hide outlets within the bottom of cabinets for an uninterrupted backsplash, and you may want to consider outlets containing USB ports to keep charging within reach.

A member of our design team can suggest the right cabinet line for your style and budget and will guide you through the process of selecting everything from doorstyles, wood species and finishes to hardware and cabinet accessories.

Traditional Bar - Custom Cabinetry

A Study in Customization & Craftsmanship

Impressive in both size and construction, the bar in our new showroom explores all that is possible through customization. It’s a tribute to the craftsman at Crystal Cabinet Works and wood carvings from Enkeboll. With Crystal’s Slate stained finish as a foundation, we brought warmth to the bar through a mix of brushed, understated metals used in its knobs, pulls and screens.

Antiqued mirror panels were custom cut and installed beneath barrel arches setting the stage for glass shelving. Adding to its character, we selected carved designs from Enkeboll’s Art Nouveau collection. We added turned posts to base cabinets, and above, arched wainscot topped with layer upon layer of crown.

Design Ideas

If your style leans more modern-to-transitional, you’ll find designs that inspire in our Portfolio, including an award-winning bar featuring German-made Poggenpohl cabintery, a custom-colored blue and brass bar and a streamlined dry bar with stainless-framed glass doors.
