Ever mindful of energy efficient building practices and materials, and in pursuit of modern luxury, when a St. Louis couple set out to create their new custom home (with an attached cottage for the husband’s mother) they enlisted the experts at Mainline Group Architecture and Jeff Bogard with REA Homes.

As seen in the latest issue of St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles magazine, the custom home’s kitchen was designed using a palette of fashion forward, high-gloss finishes from Poggenpohl, a German line exclusive to Beck/Allen in St. Louis, and the oldest kitchen brand in the world.  Kitchen cabinets combine two finishes—Pebble Grey and Diamond Grey.

“Depending on the time of day, or time of year, the home’s solar electric system is producing more energy than the home is consuming.” 

 

 

For the homeowners, highlights in the kitchen include a trough sink in the center of the island, which doubles as a prep sink and a vessel keeping cold drinks within reach. They’ve also noted, if they were given the choice keep only one thing in the kitchen, it would be the steam oven.
