The objective and the challenge when envisioning this modern kitchen display in our St. Louis, MO showroom were one and the same. Our goal was to convey luxury using a moderately priced line, showing homeowners how the addition of a few custom elements can instantly elevate a space.
Using Eclipse frameless cabinetry by Shiloh, a Missouri-based company, we began with a mix of two finishes, both in shades of grey, but with contrasting textures and sheens. On the perimeter and the island, we chose the slightly textured Gregio Pine, a TFL (thermally fused laminate), and on the pantry and table legs, we opted for Bigio, a more dramatic, high-gloss laminate.
We chose a combination of two new Caesarstone styles (from Global Granite & Marble) to complement the cabinetry: Rugged Concrete with a 3-inch drop-mitered edge and Alpine Mist with a honed finish. And in keeping with the display’s subdued palette, we selected a glass backsplash, stacking tiles instead of staggering for added visual interest.
Working with Missouri Equipment, we created a recessed backsplash where plate racks, utensils and spices are kept within reach without taking up counter space. LED lighting was used inside the recess as well as the aluminum-framed glass doors above.
Explore the Eclipse display in person Monday through Friday in our Maryland Heights, MO showroom. Discover customized storage accessories concealed behind cabinet doors and drawers and get a firsthand look at the unique integration of the Wolf contemporary cooktop.
