Minimalist Design in a Historic Soulard Home

Homeowners of this Soulard rowhouse had a new kitchen in mind that would reflect their minimalist style and a penchant for clean, white space. Their Beck/Allen designer carried the white with silver accents seen elsewhere in the home to the kitchen using white marble, stainless appliances, silver door and drawer hardware and island cabinetry. Sleek, high-pressure laminate cabinets with over-sized stainless hardware were selected for an elegant yet utilitarian feel. Metallic accents were carried throughout the backsplash design and in the subtle veining of the marble countertop. Adding to the kitchen’s modern aesthetic, tilt-up doors were installed above the sink and feature frosted glass fronts. For additional storage a combination of cabinets, drawers and tilt-up doors create a tall free-standing unit near the back door.
