A notable trend in kitchen design is a move from the traditional use of door and drawer configurations, to a more frequent use of wide drawers in their place. The homeowner of this recently completed kitchen opted for an entire wall of drawers and raves about the convenience and organization it provides beneath her cooktop. Deep lower drawers are perfect for storing pots and pans, while above, we added several shallow drawers that keep utensils and custom-designed spice storage within reach when cooking.
In addition to replacing cabinets with drawers, many appliance manufacturers now offer undercounter refrigerators, freezers and dishwasher drawers.
